Crystal Palace Stand Firm as Galatasaray Pursue Ismaila Sarr
Crystal Palace are reportedly unwilling to consider offers for Ismaila Sarr during the summer transfer window, despite strong interest from Turkish champions Galatasaray. The London club view the Senegal international as an important part of their plans and have closed the door on a potential departure.
According to a report by Burhan Can Terzi for Haber Sarikirmizi, Galatasaray identified Sarr as a priority target while looking to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes. The Super Lig winners are searching for an experienced wide forward, and the 28-year-old has emerged as one of their preferred options.
Galatasaray are understood to have submitted a proposal worth €40 million for the Crystal Palace winger. Palace, however, are believed to value Sarr at approximately €60 million and have no intention of accepting a lower offer. More importantly, the club’s current position suggests that even an improved bid may not be enough to force a sale.
Terzi reported that Palace have rejected the possibility of a summer exit in firm terms, stating: “His club is not letting him go. They’ve closed the doors.” That stance indicates that the Premier League side regard Sarr as more than just a valuable asset; he is also considered a key contributor to the team’s sporting ambitions.
Sarr’s growing importance at Selhurst Park
Sarr returned to the Premier League when he joined Crystal Palace from Marseille in August 2024. The move represented a second opportunity in England after an uneven spell with Watford, but his performances in south London have been considerably more convincing.
During his time at Palace, the Senegalese attacker has developed into one of the team’s most productive players. Although attention has often centred on figures such as Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta, Sarr has matched their influence in several important areas.
The winger enjoyed a particularly impressive campaign, scoring 21 goals and recording two assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. His ability to attack from wide areas, carry the ball at speed and make dangerous runs behind defensive lines has made him a central component of Palace’s attacking approach.
Sarr’s versatility is another reason why Palace may be reluctant to negotiate. He can operate on either flank, play closer to the striker or contribute as part of a fluid front three. Why Galatasaray want another wide attacker
Galatasaray’s pursuit of Sarr is linked to uncertainty within their own forward line. Leroy Sané endured an inconsistent debut season in Turkey, leaving questions over his long-term role and future at the club. Barış Alper Yılmaz has also been connected with a possible move away, with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly monitoring his situation.
Those developments have created a need for additional quality in the wide areas. Galatasaray want a player capable of producing immediately in domestic competition while also offering experience at the highest European level. Sarr fits that profile because of his Premier League background, international experience and proven goalscoring record.
The Turkish club’s status as the 2025/26 Super Lig champions could also make the move attractive to the player. Galatasaray can offer regular title challenges, a passionate home support and the opportunity to compete in European football. Nevertheless, Palace’s resistance has made the proposed transfer increasingly difficult.
Reports of Sarr wanting a move
Some recent reports have claimed that Sarr is interested in joining Galatasaray and may have even refused to train in an attempt to accelerate negotiations. Such claims, if accurate, could create tension between the player and Palace during the final stage of the window.
However, the club’s firm position means that Sarr would have limited leverage unless Galatasaray were prepared to substantially increase their offer. Palace’s reported €60 million valuation reflects both his recent output and the difficulty of replacing him before the new season progresses.

United are considering options for their wide positions, but Palace’s refusal to negotiate would present the same obstacle to any interested club.
For now, the most likely outcome is that Sarr remains at Selhurst Park. Unless Galatasaray dramatically improve their proposal or the player’s position changes the situation, Crystal Palace appear determined to keep the Senegalese winger and prevent a late summer transfer.
